Iced coffee

Here is a look ahead to a hot summer.

Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be featuring cafe in the city doing their take on iced coffee/cold brew. Etc.

Keep it posted.

Not sure weather the debate between hot brew then ice or brewed onto ice will be present, but we'll see.

Also going to be experimenting with at home techniques with some of the top roasters in the city and what they ate offering.
Keep it locked for more espresso adventure

Coffee Equipment

Looking at the way the internet brings us together to share brewing methods, techniques and discover different roasteries and the beans they are buying... it's also important to talk about equipment.

This kickstarter page has already exceed it's goal to make a new brewer for the KONE from Able brewing Co.

I absolutely loved the camera work and the ethos that Able is creating.

Kudos to them

M4: Fashion and Coffee

M4:

Fashions of Queen Street - Taken from Toronto Life (article)

new: City Bar

City Bar - utilizing space above Lavish and Squalor
Neighbourhood: Queen West/ Arts District/ Downtown

What's interesting from the article from BlogTO is:

No Drip coffee - certainly not a NEW trend, for the longest time Manic Coffee did not offer drip. Times change and your customer base will reflect your menu.
Current locations on Queen West: DH3 (or even around the corner DH4 is purely espresso-based drinks)

No specific mention of the Roaster - which I will go and find out, Ontario roaster is quite vague... will need to follow-up.

Integrated coffee shop inside of another business - "new-ish" for Toronto, but not uncommon.

EA will report back.....

M4: may flowers

Sunny morning.
Fresh month
See many papered windows...
Many shops opening up soon (I assume)

Are we reaching saturation?....

I really don't think so.

Some exciting external projects have been pulling me away from this site. But I'm on instagram now @esproadventures... Same name, just more photos right?

I am already hearing barista Trying out routines to battle in the upcoming regionals in July.... Look out Geoff, you've for heavy company. From the chatter I hear, it looks good. Exciting.
Very

Happy espresso adventures.

Cino de mayo....

So last month I decided to make a hot sauce that infused espresso shots into the mix. It was a success but it wasn't Te bold player you thought...

So as we celebrate cino de mayo, what kinda ideas are popping into your head?

Someone I met at the competition mention that they really enjoyed hot sauce in coffee...

For the purity of the craft, I'm going to look for fiery beverages. Maybe with overdoes of spiciness/ cinnamon.

What about you?
