Smacking you in the face is Tribeca, where it's nestling tendency is quite strongest in New York. It's the place to be for young families. What better way to embrace the NY lifestyle, than Wholefoods and Kaffe 1668 across the street. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the location, I think it's a wonderful marriage.
Back in December I went to this cafe and was blown away by the volume, selections of beans and the multiple Cover Machines that were in constant rotation. I think it's the location in the hood, but that's between the two of us.
On this trip, I had the chance to meet, Mr. Jay - Manager of the establishment, and dare we say Head Barista. Busy working the Synesso, pulling the Konga from Counter for me on this day. Friendly, and speaking between pulling drinks, we had a brief discussion about they're place within the neighbourhood.
It dawn on me, that New York is threaded through a strong sense of community. Locals love their place, the shops, and the cafes. More could not be said about this establishment that you haven't heard about, it's a great shop to find delicious espresso pulled with care.
The Basics:
Machine: Synesso Cynra

Roasters: Counter Coffee Company
Located: Durham, N.C

Verdict: Wow, can we say it was a trip back to memory lane when you think of those lemon candy drops coated with sugar.
Think "Candy land" the board game.
These guys also carry: Intelli, Ecco, Ploughman.
They believe in crafting that cup of coffee just the way you ordered it, mainly in Single-Origin format.
I could hop on a plane and just got there now!
